Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to use this website. This statement covers the public CNA website. We will review it whenever the site changes significantly.

Our target

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

How we test

  • Automated accessibility checks with axe, and Lighthouse audits, in a headless browser.
  • Keyboard-only checks of navigation, menus, forms and links.
  • Layout checks at screen widths from 360 pixels up to desktop.
  • A build check that every image has a text alternative and every page has a single main heading.

What works

  • Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, and a "Skip to content" link jumps past the menu.
  • The keyboard focus is always clearly visible.
  • Screenshots and images have text alternatives.
  • Text never relies on colour alone to carry meaning.
  • Content reflows to a 360-pixel-wide screen without scrolling sideways; wide tables scroll within their own box.
  • If your device asks for reduced motion, animations and transitions are switched off.
  • The site works without JavaScript.

Known limitations

  • Portal screenshots are images of charts. Their meaning is given in the caption and the surrounding text, but the individual data points in a chart are not available as text.
  • Some screenshots are placeholders until they are replaced with images of the current portal.

The CNA portal

The CNA portal used by our customers is a separate service and is not covered by this statement. [PLACEHOLDER: portal accessibility statement, if one will be published]
